Paraphrased summary of comments made by prisoner and/or others:

The current conviction was evidenced by Shane standing about 30 feet distance from a friend who was transacting a $20

cocaine sale. Shane was found guilty by a jury of aiding and abetting and received a 25 years to life sentence. The person who

conducted the sale was found guilty and received a four year sentence of which he was able to leave prison after two years. The

prior strikes were conducted by Shane on his own mother's home and some neighbors. When Shane's mom suspected that

Shane was the person who committed the burglaries (worth less than $1,000), she practiced "tough love" and made Shane turn

himself in--hoping that he would get drug treatment for his addiction. Shane did not receive any treatment, however.
