As the Los Angeles Demonstration got under way, FACTS had a surprise visit from Deputy District Attorney Steve Cooley who expressed his views on the 3-strikes law. He will be running against Gil Garcetti in the March 7, 2000 elections. Click here to hear his comments.

Geri Silva is the co-chair of state-wide FACTS. Dennis Duncan is the President of the Los Angeles chapter of FACTS.

Tye Smith, who recently started a FACTS chapter in North County San Diego made it to the LA Demonstration. Frederick Daniels shares his comments on the 3-strikes law.

Vera has a son who received a 25 years-to-life sentence for stealing a $35 item from a store.

Among the 50 to 60 demonstrators, there was another good showing of public defenders.
