The current Sec. of State, Bill Jones (R), had a press conference at 1:45 p.m. to discuss his opposition to any amendments to the 3-strikes law as put forth in the proposed inititiative.

The intiative proposes to amend the 3-strikes law so that only "serious" or "violent" felonies can count as strikes under both the two-strike and three strike provisions of the 3-strikes law.
