Letter from a father in Oregon
I'm going to CA this May 26th,my son is up for the three-strike count
for petty theft. Contra Costa County appealed his sentence to Delancy St. in
San Francisco on the Roam case.which doesn't allow a judge to defer
sentencing's. He's a drug addict and all of his violations are drug related.
We, his family, live in Oregon and are horrified in what's happening in CA. It
seems to us, and probably most of the other states that Ca is heading towards a
police state. In Riggs v. California the ruling was based on procedural issues,
however, the Supreme Court appears to feel CA law is unconstitutional. It is
and knows no limit or interest in the fairness of justice.
I have a
hard time in figuring out the mentality of the CA voter. The only answer I can
come up with is that, CA is building more prisons than schools of education and
the people lack the education or sense of mind to know what they are voting
for. If the concept of CA is to model itself along the lines of Casino owners
in Nevada, to build more and bigger prisons on the back of looser's( and these
looser's are state products of their failed system of rehabilitation) then Ca
is getting close to raising a swastika over it's state capitol!
The
next news from CA will probably be that AA meetings will be held in bars!!
