The video "Three Strikes: Policy and Politics in Sacramento--1999" is
ready for sale. All initial proceeds will go towards FACTS (statewide budget).
The video is approximately 44 minutes long and gives a good overview
of the difficulties encountered by FACTS members when trying to lobby in
Sacramento. Included are many comments by family members of Three Strikers, a
Deputy District Attorney, a Superior Court Judge, and an Appellate Attorney
(all lobbying on behalf of amending the 3-strikes law). Also see discussions
with Senator Jim Costa (co-author of the Three Strikes law) and other Senators.
In addition, the video gives details about the 3-strikes law and the political
process involved in trying to change the 3-strikes law.
