3-Strike Stories: Daniel
"I am the wife of Daniel. We have been married 12 years and have two children. A
few years ago our lives started to fall apart when drugs entered the picture. Daniel has
worked for 3 major computer companies. He is a very bright, generous, intelligent human
being who got derailed and off track by drugs. In early Feb. of this year he voluntarily
entered a rehabilitation program in Orange. On the 3rd day when riding his bike to a
meeting he was arrested for his glass pipe. A few weeks later, our son and Daniel were
riding their bikes to Cub Scouts when again the police arrested him for his pipe. All this
has deeply affected not only my husband and I, but mostly our children. Why should they
suffer without their papa for the rest of his life? For his addiction? He never stole or
hurt anyone physically to get drugs. He is in no way a threat to society."
