3-Strike Stories: M. August
My family history was of a poor one. I was abused when I was a kid by my fathers
friend and I also have some mental problems too.
Two of my strikes were from 1980-1983, and my 3rd one in 1995. The Judge was Richard
A. Hangner and my trial was all Prejudicial. The Judge said that the Romero case didn't mean nothing to him.
My family was poor and I was also abused when I was a child by my father friend. My
life was really bad. Out there I was on lots of drugs. I was hooked on them and that's how I got the robbery I have now. I needed more
drugs and the lady I robbed, I never put my hands on her, or pulled anything out on her. I
never did do any thing violent to her and she even said that herself. This life that I
have is about to mess my family life up, because my mother is ill and my kids are taking
this hard because they tell me that they are never going to see me again. My wife, she ran
off on me and at one time I was thinking about killing myself because I know I shouldn't have all this time for what I did. I didn't kill anyone, but I know I got to pay for what I
did, but not my life. I don't do if I ever see
my kids and mother again.
The Three Strikes is a Law that's not
working the way it was meant to. I can see if it was for people who kill or rape or kidnap
and child molesters.
