3-Strike Stories: Max
"I am the mother of Max. He started having problems with drugs when he was 15
years old. He received his 1st Strike while sitting in an abandoned house with friends. He
is in prison now for drug related charges. I fear as a mom that when he gets out of prison
with no place to live, no job skills and no rehabilitation, he'll probably fall back into
his old pattern again. I have not been successful in getting him the help he needed. My
biggest fear is that he will get caught in the '3-Strikes' for something minor. . . .
3-Strikes is very unfair to many people. Violent criminals get less time than non-violent
minor offenders."
