3-Strike Stories: Steve McBlicten
Dear Friends,
I'm very glad that I am part of this fight on the 3 strikes law. You already have my
family on your mailing list. And they are very involved with my law suit and my case. I
have hope today along with others in here. But I have tried to reach out to the population
because a lot of 2 strikers have taken deals that have opened them up to a third strike in
their future. And their second strike isn't even a strike. I have found that a lot of
people where corcersed into taking a deal because a possible life sentenced.
County jails throughout California need to be educated what this law really means to
other's lifes. I know the courts are overwhelmed with trials, but there is a constant
threat to get inmates out of the court system and into prison. I have researched over 50
or more cases of different strikes where people should not have even two strikes on them.
Yes this law is abused in so many ways. I know the voters where fooled because even their
familymembers are in here now, and they don't even have a criminal past like myself.
Today my recovery comes first and I am open minded and teachable today. Change means
struggle and work, change means freedom. I want to always stay in contact with you. We
can't give up hope.
